Band: Big Thief
Album: Masterpiece
Song: Paul
Release date: 2016

this is not at all the type of music i listen to but i keep going back. so that must mean something. also you must listen to the song masterpiece, below. that one in particular has a very rilo kiley/jenny lewis vibe. they’re playing a show in my neighborhood over the summer with conor oberst, so i guess that all makes sense in my universe.

enjoy

Band: Sondre Lerche
Album: Pleasure
Song: Soft Feelings
Release date: 2017

ok going back to new releases- check out this new song from sondre lerche. super different from what i think of when i think of his music (remember heartbeat radio from 2009? also i just watched the first 30 seconds of that video… we’ve all come a long way since ’09.)

from his upcoming album, Pleasure

sounds like julian casablancas, right?

[staircase photo from a deerhunter show i went to at webster hall (before they went on tour with kings of leon, but def after i saw them at cosmic charlie’s circa 2011). thought the pink neon light = this song. i’m annoying, i know.]

Band: Superorganism
Album: n/a
Song: Something for Your M.I.N.D.
Release date: Jan. 23, 2017

this is not at all the kind of music i listen to. but this caught me off guard.
Superorganism is an 8-piece band with members in london and a 17-year old girl in new englad. it’s funky, it’s poppy, it’s jangly and lazy. and it makes me smile every time.

i thought you might like it.

think a more psychedelic moldy peaches mixed with washed out

i almost posted rogue wave’s cover released last week of ‘let my love open the door’ bc valentine’s day… check it out if you’re interested.
